Ernest Cole, a South African photographer, was the first to present apartheid horrors to a world audience. His Bondage book, published in 1967 at the age of 27, led him to exile in New York and Europe for the rest of his life so that he never finds his warehouses. Raoul Peck recounts his hikes, his turbulence as an artist and anger, daily, on the silence or the accomplice of the Western world for the horrors of the apartheid regime. He also tells how 60,000 negatives of his work were discovered in the security of a Swedish bank in 2017.
